The holder of this full-time 12-month position will oversee the academic programming of the Spanish language courses and will teach in the NYU Madrid study away program. The holder of this position reports to the Assistant Director of Academics of NYU Madrid and to the Resident Director. This role requires both administrative work and teaching, and will include: coordinating the site’s Spanish language courses (typically about 20 per semester, in Fall and Spring, 6-8 in Summer): in collaboration with the Academic team, coordinating, developing and overseeing co-curricular activities connected to the Spanish language courses and immersive language experiences; developing and mentoring faculty; teaching a maximum of 3 courses per academic year (fall, spring and summer); this task includes office hours and course preparation. A key focus of the position is to ensure the effective delivery of excellence in the Spanish language program that is consistent with NYU's leadership in international higher education. The student body includes first-year, advanced standing, and visiting students from other institutions.   The salary range is between 48-57K

Reporting to Assistant Director of Student Life, this position will provide high quality support services to students so they have the best possible study abroad experience in Buenos Aires. Coordination of J-Term, Summer and Spring Break Visiting Programs in close conjunction with NYUNY-based program managers at relevant Schools/Colleges.   Principal Duties - Visiting Programs – Be responsible for all Spring Break, Summer, and J-Term Visiting Programs to Buenos Aires. Work with program managers in NY to provide activities, accommodation, and facilities that meet faculty requirements and enhance the reputation of Buenos Aires as host. Provide cost effective and high quality services attentive to University priorities (e.g. global IDBEA, sustainability, etc). Be the point-person for these programs from the start of the program until the last day of the program. - Volunteering & Community Service – Manage the development of the volunteer community service program in the best possible reflection of NYU priorities (e.g. global IDBEA, sustainability, etc). This will include work with the Internship Coordinator working with this network on the academic side. In coordination with the Internship point-person, help to maintain and expand the network of suitable and approved organizations in different industries. For all volunteer engagements, maintain a register of each placement in an organization containing feedback from students and from the organizations. Coordinate placements prior to arrival, take students to first interview at site, keep monthly check-ins and establish on-going contacts at organizations. - Student Life Programming, Excursions and Cultural Activities – Under supervision of the Assistant Director for Student life and as part of the student life team, be proactive in the development and implementation of activities that ensure students have a rewarding experience in Buenos Aires. Coordinate activities showcasing local culture, which activities may include sports, cultural events, field trips, orientations, and interaction with local students. Seek to reflect NYU priorities (e.g. global IDBEA, diverse academic disciplines, sustainability, etc). Help make cost effective use of NYU funds. Provide formal and informal opportunities to get feedback from students about their experience in Argentina. Take a proactive role in communicating information to students. - Emergency response & support – Provide support, guidance and crisis intervention for students. For one week at a time, be part of the rotation providing first responder service on the 24-hour duty-phone rotation. As necessary, go off-site to help students. Assist students with GeoBlue insurance inquiries on physical health issues, plus requisite documentation and follow-up. Prepare drafts of incident reports on Advocate, which the Assistant Director of Student Life will review and post. This aspect of the role includes attention to compliance with FERPA & HIPPA. - Health, Wellness & Safety support – As part of the student life team assist all students with safety, wellness and health concerns, whether this may require a simple referral, assist in filing a police report, use of Advocate Database for recording incidents, taking a student to the hospital, providing information and suggestions, assistance with GeoBlue and Emergencias services, etc. Activate Emergencias services for students attending NYUBA. This aspect of the role includes attention to compliance with FERPA & HIPPA.

NYU Buenos Aires seeks an academic staff member at our study away program to be part of the Leadership Team. The Assistant Director for Academics is expected to support, execute and promote this commitment and all NYU initiatives in the day-to-day life of NYU Buenos Aires, with primary responsibility for the academic activities, from course and lecturer planning to student learning and academic events. This full-time in-person position oversees the academic administration and, when there is opportunity, teaches in the NYU Buenos Aires program.This position, located at NYU Buenos AIres reports to the Director of NYU Buenos Aires and the Assistant Vice President for Academics in the Office of Global Programs. This role requires administrative and managerial work as well as potential teaching duties. The work will normally include: teaching when opportunities arise, whereby an appropriate course load for the year as discussed with and agreed by the Site Director could be one 3-4 credit class per semester, for fall, spring and summer; provide student advising; collaborate with local staff; fostering collaboration between local faculty and staff to achieve NYU and NYU Buenos  Aires goals; developing and mentoring faculty; mentoring and overseeing the professional effectiveness of other staff members on the NYU Buenos Aires Academics team; and coordinating academic and co-curricular events. The position-holder will facilitate effective communication between NYU Buenos Aires and relevant NYU Office of Global Programs colleagues. A key focus of the position is to ensure the effective delivery of excellence in our academic programs that are consistent with NYU's leadership in international higher education. The program strengths include undergraduate courses across the academic disciplines (including the Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Public Health), experiential learning opportunities, short-term and semester-long graduate programs, and short-term research visits. It is expected that the person in this role will work in person in the office at least 4 days a week.

This is a full-time live-in position. The Resident Assistant will live in NYU Berlin’s Student Residence in Berlin, Kreuzberg, in a modern, spacious, fully furnished single apartment. This position encompasses a broad range of responsibilities and offers an opportunity to sharpen various organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills within a short period of time. The Resident Assistant serves as a source of expertise on the local socio-cultural context. They organize events that promote a sense of community and belonging among the students. Their portfolio of tasks also includes administrative work related to residential life and policies, student safety and wellness, and extra-curricular programming. This position is responsible for managing project activities including developing and tracking budgets, tracking timelines, deliverables, milestones, and providing periodic evaluations and reports for projects that range from small to large in scope. Acts as the functional lead for internal projects and initiatives. The RAs are local full-time university students who live in modern, fully furnished NYU residence halls together with NYU undergraduate students and work part-time at NYU Prague´s academic centers. The RAs are expected to live in an apartment in the student residence. An important part of the job is organizing events and trips. NYU employs a team of 8 RAs every semester. The job lasts 4-5 months and is usually renewed for the following semesters.

The post-holder has responsibility for proposing, organizing, and implementing programs and services related to the mental and physical wellbeing of the student population. The post holder will work with other professionals at NYUBA who are responsible for other aspects of student health including ensuring immunization compliance of the NYUBA population. In close coordination with the Student Life team, the post holder will create and deliver health promotion and orientation programming related to wellness needs of NYUBA students and will deliver relevant wellness training to faculty and staff at NYUBA, including detecting students in distress, responding to matters of sexual misconduct, etc. The post-holder works closely both with NYUBA colleagues and those based at NYU in New York City.
