Incident Response Assistant (part-time, 10-12 month contract) – Incident Response Assistants are on the front line to assist students with any emergencies that arise. They report to the Residence and Student Life Manager, liaising with campus health professionals, and the Facilities Office to respond in person to incidents, report incidents to the correct channels, complete an on-call log at the end of each shift, write incident reports about any emergencies handled, meet with OSL staff once per week, assist with check-in, orientation, and check-out. During office hours, IRAs engage in front and back office tasks in the Office of Student Life and provide information and assistance to students, colleagues, visitors, and collaborators. IRAs ensure equitable and inclusive treatment of students and other stakeholders at all times.

The position of Student Life Coordinator (SLC) is a full-time position. The SLC will spend the majority of their working hours in the Student Affairs Office at the NYU London Academic Centre, and will be responsible for the work of the Student Affairs Office (SAO) team in proactively supporting students throughout the year on various programmes
from pre-arrival through to departure and providing multiple opportunities for students to engage with the local culture during their time away.
There will be on-call duties involved in the role, on a rota system with other staff, and regular evening and weekend work is required.

Responsibility for output of Student Affairs Office team and activities, with the primary goal of providing outstanding pastoral support and opportunities to students (predominantly in person, but also by email and phone), including (but not limited to):
Managing the Student Life Administrators in the Student Affairs Office.
Planning and managing the smooth and effective day-to-day operation of the Student Affairs Office, fostering a positive and user-focused atmosphere.
Managing team members’ work schedules including office rotation, training, holiday, days in lieu, duty rota, other coverage that may be required.
Collaborating with Managers and Assistant Directors to recruit, interview, select, hire, employ and train new Student Life Administrators.
Leading the recruitment, training and management of part-time student workers.

Performing annual appraisals of Student Life Administrators.
Ensuring budgets for all functional areas are updated regularly and monitored closely.

40% Student Affairs Office activities
Overseeing the use of resources and supporting the delivery of information, support and activities to students, including (but not limited to):
Student information and support: ensuring information provisions in various key locations (website,student googlesite, mobile app) are regularly reviewed and up to date, and exploring different ways to reach students with important information about resources and support (including online platforms); ensuring timely and effective responses to student queries (phone, email, in person) across the SAO team; obtaining student feedback about the support services provided; overseeing an editorial calendar for NYU London’s social media channels and coordinating the SAO team to regularly post updates and content.
Diversity programming support: facilitating diversity programming initiatives in partnership with colleagues across departments, including advising student Global Equity Fellows.
Cultural Programming: assisting in the development and delivery of a package of local cultural events and activities for students; overseeing campaigns on campus which address student needs,
including Wellbeing Week, Solidarity Week, De-Stress Week and similar themed events. It will be essential to note how different identities experience cultural and other programming activities, to support/facilitate how students navigate these experiences and create space for conversations.
Immersion opportunities: ensuring students can get involved in a range of other activities that expose them to the local culture - Host programme, volunteering, Student Unions and clubs.
Health and Wellbeing: regularly updating health and wellbeing resources, supporting students in finding appropriate health and wellness resources and helping students to navigate their private health insurance, leading on case management relating to physical healthcare support; regularly meeting colleagues to discuss Students of Concern, accompanying students to hospital if requested by department leaders or while on call.
Collaboration with Residential Life team: managing and developing collaborative tasks and projects.
Administrative and other duties - including (but not limited to): writing letters requested by students, requesting NYU ID cards, leading the planning and delivery of arrival and Orientation activities, occasional support with student conduct cases, developing provisions to further enhance the experience of NYU London students, managing and maintaining project management tools (e.g.Trello) for short, medium and long term team tasks and projects.
10% Contribute to initiatives including training, workshops and events that reinforce global inclusion, diversity, belonging, equity and accessibility (GIDBEA) amongst the students, the NYU local community, and the broader community.
10% Share responsibility as part of the Student Affairs team for providing NYU London students with support should any medical, mental health, student misconduct, policy violations, facilities concerns and/or other serious issues arise.
Be on call on a rotational basis to support students who get in touch with the NYU London Staff On Call Duty Phone or via email about challenges they are facing.
Seek advice from departmental leaders in assessing the nature of problems, ensure any urgent actions which are required are taken, and that students are supported with regular outreach until any pending resolutions can be concluded.
Connect students to counsellors and other NYU staff.
Write incident reports.
Provide support and reassurance with any large-scale community concerns that may impact students, along with all other colleagues in the Student Affairs department.

The Program Assistant, under the supervision of the Assistant Director, Student Services and Administration, provides administrative support for Operations, Academic Programs and Student Services. General Administrative Support (40%)
- Maintain high level of discretion and confidentiality

- Book tickets and transport for field trips, and assist with student supervision
- Sends out weekly newsletter to faculty summarising key information about each course, including weekly topics, guest speakers and field trips and Student Life programming.
- Identifies list of required texts from syllabus documents and if necessary, in liaison with instructors
- Arranges with Global Academics team and NYU Bookstore for the provision of texts not available to purchase in Australia
- Point of contact for required text loans for the semester. Manages collection of required texts, allocates these to students at the start of semester and ensures they are returned at the end of semester.
- Attends faculty meetings and arranges catering for final faculty meeting if necessary
- Attend training sessions for using NYU’s student information system (Albert), Learning Management System (Brightspace) and other platforms as necessary
Student Programming and Events (30%)
- Assist in all aspects of student life programming and implementation, including occasional overnight travel as chaperone

The Student Engagement Assistant position aims to aid in all aspects of the Student Life department, specially in the event creating and student interaction front. The selected person will be tasked with the administrative elements of Student Life events, projects and activities (sign up lists and its update, mailing, event reminders, communication, reservations , payments etc).
The Student Engagement Assistant will support the department’s cultural programming, event coordination, student face to face interaction (specially with the growing number of student leader positions), administrative tasks and projects as we intersect with the Academic Department, the city and the multiple cohorts of incoming upper class and LS students.
The aim is to distribute the duties and responsibilities of the department in a more efficient manner through the administrative support, event handling and day to day work entailed in this position as the student cohorts grow bigger and more complex each semester.

The holder of this full-time 12-month position will oversee the academic programming of the Spanish language courses and will teach in the NYU Madrid study away program. The holder of this position reports to the Assistant Director of Academics of NYU Madrid and to the Resident Director.
This role requires both administrative work and teaching, and will include: coordinating the site’s Spanish language courses (typically about 20 per semester, in Fall and Spring, 6-8 in Summer): in collaboration with the Academic team, coordinating, developing and overseeing co-curricular activities connected to the Spanish language courses and immersive language experiences; developing and mentoring faculty; teaching a maximum of 3 courses per academic year (fall, spring and summer); this task includes office hours and course preparation. The student body includes first-year, advanced standing, and visiting students from other institutions.

Reporting to Assistant Director of Student Life, this position will provide high quality support services to students so they have the best possible study abroad experience in Buenos Aires. Coordination of J-Term, Summer and Spring Break Visiting Programs in close conjunction with NYUNY-based program managers at relevant Schools/Colleges.
Principal Duties
- Visiting Programs – Be responsible for all Spring Break, Summer, and J-Term Visiting Programs to Buenos Aires. Work with program managers in NY to provide activities, accommodation, and facilities that meet faculty requirements and enhance the reputation of Buenos Aires as host. Provide cost effective and high quality services attentive to University priorities (e.g. global IDBEA, sustainability, etc). Be the point-person for these programs from the start of the program until the last day of the program.
- Volunteering & Community Service – Manage the development of the volunteer community service program in the best possible reflection of NYU priorities (e.g. global IDBEA, sustainability, etc). This will include work with the Internship Coordinator working with this network on the academic side. In coordination with the Internship point-person, help to maintain and expand the network of suitable and approved organizations in different industries. For all volunteer engagements, maintain a register of each placement in an organization containing feedback from students and from the organizations. Coordinate placements prior to arrival, take students to first interview at site, keep monthly check-ins and establish on-going contacts at organizations.
- Student Life Programming, Excursions and Cultural Activities – Under supervision of the Assistant Director for Student life and as part of the student life team, be proactive in the development and implementation of activities that ensure students have a rewarding experience in Buenos Aires. Coordinate activities showcasing local culture, which activities may include sports, cultural events, field trips, orientations, and interaction with local students. Seek to reflect NYU priorities (e.g. global IDBEA, diverse academic disciplines, sustainability, etc). Help make cost effective use of NYU funds. Provide formal and informal opportunities to get feedback from students about their experience in Argentina. Take a proactive role in communicating information to students.
- Emergency response & support – Provide support, guidance and crisis intervention for students. For one week at a time, be part of the rotation providing first responder service on the 24-hour duty-phone rotation. As necessary, go off-site to help students. Assist students with GeoBlue insurance inquiries on physical health issues, plus requisite documentation and follow-up. Prepare drafts of incident reports on Advocate, which the Assistant Director of Student Life will review and post. This aspect of the role includes attention to compliance with FERPA & HIPPA.
- Health, Wellness & Safety support – As part of the student life team assist all students with safety, wellness and health concerns, whether this may require a simple referral, assist in filing a police report, use of Advocate Database for recording incidents, taking a student to the hospital, providing information and suggestions, assistance with GeoBlue and Emergencias services, etc. Activate Emergencias services for students attending NYUBA. This aspect of the role includes attention to compliance with FERPA & HIPPA.

This role requires administrative and managerial work as well as potential teaching duties. The work will normally include: teaching when opportunities arise, whereby an appropriate course load for the year as discussed with and agreed by the Site Director could be one 3-4 credit class per semester, for fall, spring and summer; provide student advising; collaborate with local staff; fostering collaboration between local faculty and staff to achieve NYU and NYU Buenos Aires goals; developing and mentoring faculty; mentoring and overseeing the professional effectiveness of other staff members on the NYU Buenos Aires Academics team; and coordinating academic and co-curricular events. The position-holder will facilitate effective communication between NYU Buenos Aires and relevant NYU Office of Global Programs colleagues. This is a full-time live-in position. The Resident Assistant will live in NYU Berlin’s Student Residence in Berlin, Kreuzberg, in a modern, spacious, fully furnished single apartment. This position encompasses a broad range of responsibilities and offers an opportunity to sharpen various organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills within a short period of time. The Resident Assistant serves as a source of expertise on the local socio-cultural context. They organize events that promote a sense of community and belonging among the students. Administrative Support – Student Life
- Act as a role model and first point of contact for students, providing logistical guidance and emotional support.
- Communicate housing policies to students and ensure that these policies are observed; enforce appropriate disciplinary responses, if necessary.
- Assist in the facilitation of roommate and suitemate conflicts.
- Act as a liaison between facility management, security personnel, and students.
- Organize check-ins, check-outs, and housing orientations and communicate with appropriate NYU Berlin staff regarding any housing issues.

Events & Activities
- Organize regular activities to create a sense of community, i.e., student workshops and weekend events. Develop flyers, posters and brochures.
