Position Summary
The position of Live-in Residence Hall Administrator - First Year focus is a full-time live-in position based in one of NYU London’s central London residence halls, home to first year NYU students who are beginning their university journey in London. This position will focus on in-building community development, creating and driving programming for students that meet Residence Life, Student Life, and NYU London co-curricular goals. They will also co-advise a residence hall council, composed of students in the assigned building with a focus on community development. The incumbent will serve as a first-line responder to NYU London’s overnight on-call duty phone on a regular, rotational basis.
NYU London’s working hours are typically between 10am-6pm from Monday to Friday, however the incumbent is required to maintain flexible working hours and respond to a 24/7 duty phone as part of an on-call rotation shared within the NYU London Student Life department. As such, this position is expected to maintain 30 hours per week of scheduled work time as follows: 20-25 hours per week (spread across a minimum of 4 days) of regular office hours during the 10-6 weekday time frame in alignment with manager approval. 5-10 hours per week (spread across a minimum of 3 days), should be maintained regularly on weekday evenings between 6pm- 9pm during term time for in-building student programming, hall council work, building walks, and other evening activities in the residence halls. The remaining 5 hours per week shall be spread across the on-call period, with some weeks having no on-call responsibilities and some weeks having significant responsibilities. Outside of term time, this schedule may be adjusted.
This role’s primary working location shall be the Byron Court Residence Hall Office and Guilford House Residence Hall with regular visits to the NYU London Academic Center for team meetings and general business. During the on-call period, the incumbent is expected to maintain flexibility for traveling to students experiencing urgencies and emergencies across all NYU London residence hall locations, local medical facilities, or other reasonable locations.
This position reports to the Residence Life Coordinator - First Year Focus and has no supervisory responsibility of professional staff.

This is a full time live-in position based in one of NYU London’s residence halls. During on-call periods, this team member must sleep on-site and remain within 30 minutes of central London.
This position leads as a highly visible representative of NYU London Student Life, promoting pro-social engagement and serving as a first-line resource for students in the residence halls. Simultaneously, the incumbent will have the opportunity to set personal boundaries regarding their living space and when / where to be available for student residents.
This position is not eligible for TOIL for on-call rotational duties as that time is accounted for in the hours expectations of the role. This position remains eligible for TOIL for other duties as assigned.
